2012 British National Successes

Psadisho Ibn Esstashan offspring continued to triumph at the 2012 British National Show:

Here is Paul and Avril Timms' top winning filly ELISHAA ('Psadsiho' x  Exquisite Lady). She culminated her fantastic show season by winning a strong two year old class and the British National Reserve Championship.

Congratulations!

2012 British National Successes: Crstal Fadishaa

Another Psadisho Ibn Esstashan daughter - our homebred  British National Champion Filly, CRYSTAL FADISHAA competed in adult classes for the first time. We were delighted that she was placed second in one of the strongest classes of the day!

2012 British National Successes: D'Artagnan

Our Part-Arabians bolstered our other wins. Here we have D'ARTAGNAN (Arastin x Broadstone Dresden) already a British National Champion. He won his class again and the National Reserve Supreme Partbred Championship. Later, he was second on his debut appearance under saddle!

A British National Father and Son

It is not unheard of that a father and son appear in the same Supreme Championships at the British National Show...but it is a rare occurrance.

Here we have our own D'Artagnan (Arastin x Broadstone Dresden) with his yearling son, the Didlick's Mr. D'Arcy. Both won their sections and were the only "sire and son" to do so. D'Artagnan was chosen as the Reserve Supreme Champion.

On the right is the 2012 colt Pragush, a wonderful copy of his dam Prawica, one of the UK's best loved and most successful show mares.

Pragush's sire is our multi champion stallion Psadisho Ibn Esstashan. With those parents, naturally he is a fantastic mover, with huge presence and he is also refined, elegant and correct.

May 2012 : Cullinghurst Sire and daughter made tremendous impact at the 2012 Classic Arabian Horse Show : Champion Stallion and Champion Filly!

Here is Psadisho Ibn Esstashan with his long term handler Mark Hardcastle. Together they brought the audience to their feet with their dramatic performance at The Classic Arabian Show.

Nykitaa won the yearling filly class and went on to take the Filly Championship. Later in the day, her sire 'Psadisho Ibn Esstashan' won the senior stallion class and the overall Stallion Championship.

The photo of his filly Nykitaa was taken last year when she was a foal. New ones will be posted as soon as possible.

Apart from being a triumph in the show ring, these results testify to our solid breeding programme, as Nykitaa is sired by 'Psadisho' and out of Nykolaa, a daughter of our senior stallion ARASTIN.

She has hergrandsire's elegance and his enormous eyes, combined with her sire's huge presence and high trotting movement.

September 2011 : Carriage Driving

Aaprt from our Arabians, we also have Warmbloods and Welsh Cobs.

On the right is pictured our Champion Welsh Cob, Ackroyd Danny Boy, who was brought out of retirement in September to compete at the Annual Carriage Driving Extravaganza.

He won three classes and placed third in the Supreme Championship, gaining a great number of admirers along the way.

He competed, driven to a vintage (circa 1900) Spindle Backed Gig.

----------

Stop Press: Danny Boy competed at the British Driving Society's National Championships (right) where he gained two third places amidst the strongest competition. A wonderful result for a truly wonderful driving horse.

July 2011 : Another TWO British National Champions!

We took just four horses to the British Nationals and they won three National Championships between them!

Here is SG Jeddah, with his trainer and rider Frances Atkinson. He was the British National Supreme Novice Champion.

Jeddah is a young stallion with outstanding youngstock, who is leased from his breeder, Susan George. We are delighted that he will remain with us for another season.

-------------------------------------------

Below the photo of Jeddah is our double National Champion D'Artagnan (Arastin x Broadstone Dresden), who continues in his winning family's way. He has never been beaten in his Partbred Arabian Classes and was Supreme Champion, above all the Purebreds at the prestigious South East Regional Show. D'Artagnan is proving to be an excellent sire. July 2011 : New Fillies

Two new fillies are born.

The first is Nykitaa by Psadisho Ibn Esstashan ex Nykolaa (by Arastin), a bay with minimal white markings. She is truly exotic!

The second is Nyvestaa by A-Jakarta ex Nyinska Kossack (by Balaton), so both fillies share the same female line. She is truly elegant! SOLD to Claire & Bob Cossey. Congratulations!

July 2011 : Another Psadisho Filly

Here we see the first photograph of Mr & Mrs Gerald Bond's Gorgeous filly foal sired by our Psadisho Ibn Esstashan.

This filly is out of the very beautiful Polish import Euza, one of the high-selling mares at the Pride of Poland Annual auction. Euza is a multiple champion and we anticipate that her new Psadisho daughter will follow in both parents' footsteps!

Congratulations!

June 2011 : Frances Judges Cobs at Royal Norfolk

Our interest in the horse world encompasses several different breeds and types. Arabians will always be our prefered breed but we also own Welsh Cobs, British Warmbloods, Part Breds and Anglo Arabs.

We train them to ride in traditional classes, in western and in harness. They have been spectacularly successful.

Here we see Frances judging Cobs (another show type she loves) at The Royal Norfolk Show in June 2011. Her choice of Champion and Reserve Champion both showed huge quality, correctness and star quality.

Frances and her mother (Nadia Howard Price) both serve as judges on several different panels, including those for Hacks, Cobs, Coloureds and British Riding Horses. We have all been judges for the Arab Horse Society and all of us have judged internationally. We have all enjoyed the privilege of judging overseas and we have all judged PureBreds at the British National Shows.

June 2011 : Elustarius triumphs at the British Driving Society Essex Region

Congratulations to Frances and Elustarius (Gai Radiant Star x El Badoura). "Jack" was the only Arabian competing and he won the Novice Driving Horse Section as well as being second in the combined Ride and Drive Championship.

In doing so, he qualified for the Annual Driving Extravaganza at The Hand Equestrian Centre in September.

Apart from the enjoyment we reecive by driving him, our hope is to dispel the notion that Arabs are unsuitable harness horses. We were delighted by the many compliments Jack received from the spectators and the other exhibitors, several of whom began by stating that they had never liked Arabs.... BUT this one is fantastic !

June 2011 : Northern Arabian Show - Top Breeders!

At the Northern AHS Regional Show, four of the six qualifying fillies in the junior female championship were either owned or bred by Cullinghurst.

Two were sired by the World Champion Marajj ex our beloved black Polish import Wipera (Fawor x Wendeta by Palas). Pictured is the Reserve British National Champion Filly Wirajjaa, who was second in the 3 year old class and Res Reserve Champion. Her full sister Wianissima was second in the 2 year old filly class.

The winner of the two year old filly class was the homebred Tamishaa, who is sired by our Psadisho Ibn Esstashan ex Tamira and owned by Vicky Marsh. Also sired by Psadisho was the second place winner of the yearling filly class Elishaa (Psadisho Ibn Esstashan x Lady) bred and owned by Mr. & Mrs. Timms.

Elishaa recently won the Yearling Filly Class at the Royal Norfolk Show and was the Reserve Champion Filly. Congratulations to her owners and her handler Mark Hardcastle.

May 2011 : Frances and Elustarius make their driving debut

Congratulations to Frances & the purebred Arab Elustarius who competed at the Suffolk County Show in the prestigious private driving classes, against all breeds.

Third overall (and of course the only Arabian present) they qualified for the British Driving Society's National Championships at Smiths Lawn.

This celebrated partnership is no stranger to the show ring and they have won countless championships together, including at the Horse of the Year Show and the British Nationals.

Frances is drving Elustarius to a Lawton Stick Back Gig (circa 1900). This elegant, original vehicle is black with gold lining and is about 100 years old.

April 2011: D'Artagnan Supreme Champion In Hand

Our Partbred Arabian D'Artagnan appeared in a dual role for his first outing since winning his British National Championship as a two year old.

At the East Midlands AHS Group Show D'Artagnan win the Supreme In Hand Championship, beating National Winning Purebred Arabians and went onto win his very first ridden class and championship in his section, partnered by his delighted owner/breeder Frances Atkinson.

Sired by our black purebred Arastin, his dam is our Broadstone Doulton's (HOYS Supreme Champion) full sister Broadstone Dresden, herself a National Champion and HOYS Reserve Champion. Dresden's filly by Arastin (D'Amsen) - see below, is a double British National winner.

STOP PRESS! D'Artagnan is proud of his first Part Arabian foal (Mr D'Arcy) a gorgeous, black-grey colt bred by Emma and Shirley Didlick from their beautiful mare Pricklegate Minim .... we wish every success in the future!

March 2011: TAMIRA IS SOLD TO DENMARK

Our refined and elegant, young mare Tamira has been sold to a breeder in Denmark. She is straight "Russian" in pedigree.

Judging by the quality of her first filly Tamishaa (by Psadisho Ibn Esstasan), whose movement, type and carriage are fantastic, she will be an excellent brood mare and we wish her new owner all success for the future.

2010 WIPERA'S latest filly as a yearling

October 2010: The Horse of the Year Show

We sponsored the entire Arabian section for the last time this year. Three years ago we were compelled to step in with the help of Mary Ann Wragg, because there were very real fears that the Horse of the Year Show would be lost to Arab horses.

Since then very many enthususiasts have expressed their thanks and we have been delighted that the classes have gone from strength to strength.

We hope to remain involved with a degree of the sponsorship in the future and are relieved that the Arab Horse Society has seen the wisdom of supporting this most illustrious of events.

August 2010: UK International "B" Show - Psadisho Ibn Esstashan still on top

Having won five consecutive championships, including at the Midlands International "C" show - and unbeaten in two years, Psadisho took second place at the UK International, gaining 92.6 points! He was the highest placed British owned stallion and a Gold Medal Winner.

Thanks to Mark Hardcastle for his skill and his empathetic handling.

D'Aamsen (ex Broadstone Dresden (Warmblood)) wins again at the British Nationals

At the British National Show, D'Aamsen won her class and was Reserve Champion. She was Champion in 2009 at the same show.

Her sire is our black Arabian, Arastin (Simeon Sadik x Arina by Palas) - a great sire of broodmares.

D'Aamsen's dam (Dresden) is a multi Champion in the showring and successful in the dressage arenas. Dresden is full sister to our Horse of the Years Show Supreme Champion, Broadstone Doulton.

June 2010: Well done Tamishaa, yet another top show filly by Psadisho Ibn Esstashan!

It's always good to hear of our clients' successes. We congratulate Vicky Marsh on her excellent show with Tamishaa (Psadisho Ibn Esstashan x Tamira) who made such an impact on her debut.

Tamishaa's dramatic trot and her exquisite type attracted a great deal of comment from spectators and exhibitors alike. We look forward to reporting on even more success in the near future.

PSADISHO IBN ESSTASHAN

October 2009: Elustarius ended the season by being crowned SUPREME ARABIAN HORSE OF THE YEAR

FRANCES Rode Elustarius to win the Supreme Arabian of The Year at the world famous HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW in October 2009. Their win was made all the more exciting as her London Business "Hutchinsons Domestic Staff" sponsored the classes and her husband Paul was at hand to present her with the trophies.

Cullinghurst has enjoyed a record breaking show season, with the homebred youngstock, capturing British National Championships AND Reserve National Championships.

Best of all - the 2009 foal crop is the best to date, with fillies by World Champion MARAJJ (Marwan Al Shaqab x RGA Kouress), The International Sensation, QR Marc (Marwan Al Shaqab x Sweet Dreams) and our own multi Champion, Psadisho Ibn Esstshan.

Frances and Paul with Elustarius

THE BRITISH NATIONALS : Psadisho Ibn Esstashan was only one point behind in the National Leading Sire of The Show Award - with far fewer entries!

PSADISHO IBN ESSTASHAN has it all! Tall, refined, elegant and with dramatic movement, he has been Stallion Champion, every time shown in 2009 and he is also a multi International Champion.

PSADISHO is sired by Esstashan - full brother to the illustrious Triple Crown Winner (Nations Cup, European Champion & World Champion) ESSTEEMA. His dam is the European Reserve Champion Psayada Bint Psyche.

Psadisho's top international pedigree, together with his individual quality explain his huge success as a young sire.

At the Britsh National Show, three of the six fillies in the Championship were sired by Psadisho , with his oldest offspring being just three years old. The British National Champion Filly was his two year old daughter Crystal Fadishaa.

September 2009: Ellustarius (Jack) won the Concours D'Elegance against all breeds.

Ellustarius followed up his British National Ridden Championship in July by beating all contenders, (in hand or ridden) to become the Supreme Champion at the British Arabian Championships in September.

As can be seen here, less than 2 weeks later, the talented and beautiful Ellustarius competed against all breeds in the Driven Section at the Gransden Agrictultral
