October 2009: Elustarius ended the season by being crowned SUPREME ARABIAN HORSE OF THE YEAR
FRANCES Rode Elustarius to win the Supreme Arabian of The Year at the world famous HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW in October 2009. Their win was made all the more exciting as her London Business "Hutchinsons Domestic Staff" sponsored the classes and her husband Paul was at hand to present her with the trophies. Cullinghurst has enjoyed a record breaking show season, with the homebred youngstock, capturing British National Championships AND Reserve National Championships. Best of all - the 2009 foal crop is the best to date, with fillies by World Champion MARAJJ (Marwan Al Shaqab x RGA Kouress), The International Sensation, QR Marc (Marwan Al Shaqab x Sweet Dreams) and our own multi Champion, Psadisho Ibn Esstshan.

Ellustarius followed up his British National Ridden Championship in July by beating all contenders, (in hand or ridden) to become the Supreme Champion at the British Arabian Championships in September. As can be seen here, less than 2 weeks later, the talented and beautiful Ellustarius competed against all breeds in the Driven Section at the Gransden Agrictultral Show, where he beat all contenders to win the Concours D'Elegance Class. As ever, he made a positive impact within the general equestrian sphere and he was inundated with compilments. |

2009 PSADISHO IBN ESSTASHAN CHAMPION AGAIN
Psadisho Ibn Esstsahan made it two out of two this year. Shown only twice, he has been Champion at the Midlands Festival and now Champion at the North Staffs Regional Show. There was an International Judges Panel and Psadisho scored an impressive 91.6. His co-owner (Mary Ann Wragg) is judging stallions at the National Show, so Psadisho will not be able to compete at Malvern this year. Our thanks to his handler Emma Maxwell for all her expertise.

July 2009 Psadisho Champion again!
Psadisho Ibn Esstashan was Champion Stallion at the 2009 Midlands Festival, his first outing since his accident in 2008. We were delighted, not just by his return to winning form, showing his outstanding movement but by the audience's reaction to him. There was no doubting the enthusiastic reception he received upon wiinning the championship and later when people congregated at his stable. Thanks to all those who gave him their generous support, to the international judge Mrs. Christine Jamar and to his friend and handler, Emma Maxwell. |

June 2009 - Breeding horses can be so very rewarding!
2009 bay filly Wistacja by QR Marc x Wisteriaa by Arastin x Wipera. She is all we hoped for! Arastin's dam Arina (Palas x Arra) was imported from Janow Podlaski State Stud and Wisteriaa's dam Wipera (Fawor x Wendeta) was imported from the Michalow State Stud. We are interested that Michalow has used QR Marc extensively. Wistacja is only our first attempt with this much sought after sire but with several generations of our breeding in Wistacja's pedigree she represents the type and quality we had anticipated. (She also moves perfectly - and straight) |
