October 2009: Elustarius ended the season by being crowned SUPREME ARABIAN HORSE OF THE YEAR

FRANCES Rode Elustarius to win the Supreme Arabian of The Year at the world famous HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW in October 2009. Their win was made all the more exciting as her London Business "Hutchinsons Domestic Staff" sponsored the classes and her husband Paul was at hand to present her with the trophies.

Cullinghurst has enjoyed a record breaking show season, with the homebred youngstock, capturing British National Championships AND Reserve National Championships.

Best of all - the 2009 foal crop is the best to date, with fillies by World Champion MARAJJ (Marwan Al Shaqab x RGA Kouress), The International Sensation, QR Marc (Marwan Al Shaqab x Sweet Dreams) and our own multi Champion, Psadisho Ibn Esstshan.

JULY 2009 THE BRITISH NATIONALS : Psadisho Ibn Esstashan was only one point behind in the National Leading Sire of The Show Award - with far fewer entries!

PSADISHO IBN ESSTASHAN has it all! Tall, refined, elegant and with dramatic movement, he has been Stallion Champion, every time shown in 2009 and he is also a multi International Champion.

PSADISHO is sired by Esstashan - full brother to the illustrious Triple Crown Winner (Nations Cup, European Champion & World Champion) ESSTEEMA. His dam is the European Reserve Champion Psayada Bint Psyche.

Psadisho's top international pedigree, together with his individual quality explain his huge success as a young sire.

At the Britsh National Show, three of the six fillies in the Championship were sired by Psadisho , with his oldest offspring being just three years old. The British National Champion Filly was his two year old daughter Crystal Fadishaa.

September 2009: Ellustarius (Jack) won the Concours D'Elegance against all breeds.

Ellustarius followed up his British National Ridden Championship in July by beating all contenders, (in hand or ridden) to become the Supreme Champion at the British Arabian Championships in September.

As can be seen here, less than 2 weeks later, the talented and beautiful Ellustarius competed against all breeds in the Driven Section at the Gransden Agrictultral Show, where he beat all contenders to win the Concours D'Elegance Class.

As ever, he made a positive impact within the general equestrian sphere and he was inundated with compilments.

Caroline Trigg's wonderful Ellustarius rounded off his British National Ridden Championship in July by beating all contenders, (whether in hand or ridden) to become the Supreme Champion at the British Arabian Championships in September.

Bred at Cullinghurst by Karen Upton, this marvelous Arabian horse has enjoyed the most spectacular show career and continues to delight his owners, trainers and the audiences wherever he shows!

JULY 2009 THE BRITISH NATIONALS : WE SET RECORDS!  Five Horses shown - Five Winners - 3 National Championships & One National Reserve Champion

At the Britsh National Show all five of the horses we showed won their classes!

Wirajaa, Crystal Fadishaa and Nyishaa all won their Junior Female classes and were each best of their sections. There were three winners and three seconds eligible for the Championship - we owned and bred all the winners and one of the seconds was sired by our stallion.

Crystal Fadsihaa won the British National Filly Championship, with Wirajaa in Reserve! We are informed that no other breeder had ever achieved this feat and therefore.

D'Aamsen was named the British National Light Horse Champion and Caroline Trigg's Ellustarius won the British National Ridden Gelding Championship (for the third time).

Wipera has founded her own dynasty at Cullinghurst.

2009 BRITISH NATIONAL OVERALL 3 Year Winner NYISHAA

The proud recipient of the Britsh National Senior Three Year Section is Nyishaa, one of our most established and highly successful show fillies.

She is sired by our International Champion Psadisho Ibn Esstashan, who was Reserve Champion Leading Sire of The Show at Malvern. Her dam is the top Champion Mare Nyinska Kossack (Balaton x Nereska).  Another truly an international pedigree.

Nyinska has also founded her own dynasty at Cullinghurst.

2009 NYKOLAASZ HAS WON EVERY TIME SHOWN !

A rare photograph of us all with the multi champion yearling colt NYKOLASZ (Adres x Nyinska Kossack by Balaton) at the HOCON National "C" show. On the left is Mrs Nadia Howard Price. On the right is her daughter Frances Atkinson and in the middle is Paul Atkinson.  Handling Nykolasz is the inimitable Emma Maxwell with whom we have had such fun (and success) at the shows.

2009 PSADISHO IBN ESSTASHAN CHAMPION AGAIN

Psadisho Ibn Esstsahan made it two out of two this year. Shown only twice, he has been Champion at the Midlands Festival and now Champion at the North Staffs Regional Show.

There was an International Judges Panel and Psadisho scored an impressive 91.6. His co-owner (Mary Ann Wragg) is judging stallions at the National Show, so Psadisho will not be able to compete at Malvern this year.

Our thanks to his handler Emma Maxwell for all her expertise.

July 2009 Psadisho Champion again!

Psadisho Ibn Esstashan was Champion Stallion at the 2009 Midlands Festival, his first outing since his accident in 2008.

We were delighted, not just by his return to winning form, showing his outstanding movement but by the audience's reaction to him. There was no doubting the enthusiastic reception he received upon wiinning the championship and later when people congregated at his stable.

Thanks to all those who gave him their generous support, to the international judge Mrs. Christine Jamar and to his friend and handler, Emma Maxwell.

June 2009 - Breeding horses can be so very rewarding!

2009 bay filly Wistacja by QR Marc x Wisteriaa by Arastin x Wipera. She is all we hoped for!

Arastin's dam Arina (Palas x Arra) was imported from Janow Podlaski State Stud and Wisteriaa's dam Wipera (Fawor x Wendeta) was imported from the Michalow State Stud. We are interested that Michalow has used QR Marc extensively.

Wistacja is only our first attempt with this much sought after sire but with several generations of our breeding in Wistacja's pedigree she represents the type and quality we had anticipated. (She also moves perfectly - and straight)

June 2009 - Another THREE Championships for Cullinghurst horses

At the HOCON (National C) Show, Nykolasz (Adres x Nyinska Kossack by Balaton) continued unbeaten and was awarded the Colt Championship.

His dam Nyinska Kossack was the Mare Champion in strong competition.

Caroline Trigg's wonderful Elustarius, ridden / produced by Frances Atkinson, won the Supreme Ridden Arabian of the Show.

Here we show our most exciting yearling filly Wirajja (Marajj x Wipera) who added to our total by winning the Yearling Filly section to great acclaim.

May 2009 - Another Championship!

Nykolasz (Adres x Nyinska Kossack by Balaton) is our only son of Adres. He is "Straight" Russian and with a superb pedigree, combining the blood of the European Champion Stallions, Balaton and Drug. On his debut at the Norfolk AHS Regional Show in 2009, he was the Supreme Champion. Since then Nykolasz has won / or been champion every time shown. Long live the King!

May 2009 - Followed by Another

Nyinska Kossack (Balaton x Nereska by Veresk) is already a Multi-Champion.

Her son featured above accompanied her to the Suffolk County Show where both won their sections and Nyinska became the Reserve Supreme Champion, beating both Pure bred and Part Bred horses.

August Polish National Festival

August 2008. We are delighted to announce the purchase of the wonderful mare PEREIRA (Eldon x Per Pani by the Probat son Zlotoglow). She has been an excellent producer at the Polish State Studs and has already produced an esteemed show winner. She arrives at Cullinghurst in foal to the lovely Gazal Al Shaqab son PEGASUS.

Best of all this is our first opportunity to re-establish the fantastic "P" line of PIEWICA from Janow Podlaski. Our own British National Champion Pandoer HT was from this established Polish line and Paul has spent half a lifetime with this incredible family which includes Piechur, Platoon HT, Pikardia, Pentoda, Pilarka, and the phenomenal Pistacja.  photo Stuart Vesty

Below is PEREIRA's Janow-show winning daughter, the dramatic PEROLIA (by Gazal Al Sahqab)...just one of the reasons we bought PEREIRA. Her 2008 Eurykles colt is equally spectacular and is of the same essential Polish type as his dam.
